The ABACO group begins its professional endeavor in Mexico after 2006, following several important damage claims in the city of Cancun (Quintana Roo), starting off by providing its services to the insurance and reinsurance industry, mainly in the construction damage claim area.
The project for Abaco’s final implementation in Mexico takes shape in 2011 thanks to its operations as a local company. Currently, there are two different work teams in Abaco Mexico: one which works solely in the Spanish reinsurance and business market; the other working only in the Mexican insurance market. The main business areas in the reinsurers market are Construction, Leisure and Tourism, Property and Energy / Power, Transports (merchandise and goods, hull and artworks) and Aquaculture. In the local market our business areas are Fires, Transports, Civil Liability and Others.
At present we are working to establish our local team and moving forward in the training and inclusion of specialized professionals in our reinsurers’ branch.
