On the evening of 21 November 2013 ABACO International Loss Adjusters held it’s “the Value of a Promise” cocktail party for its principal clients at the Palacio de Neptuno in Madrid. The event was also attended by over one hundred professionals from the insurance sector, many of whom represented the Spanish market’s principal Brokers and Insurers. The event served to present details of the company’s programme of international expansion, and staff responsible for ABACO’s offices in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean were introduced, specifically the Country Managers of our Mexico, Miami, USA, Peru and Colombia branch offices.
The ceremony was introduced by the Chairman of ABACO, Mr Pedro Jiménez, and a speech given by guest Ms Ana García Barona, who is responsible for Legislative Policies at the DGSFP (Spain’s General Insurance and Pension Funds Directorate). Ms García discussed the reform being prepared for the Insurance Contract Act, which is integrated into the Commercial Code, and its implications for the loss adjusting industry. The guests were informed that the supervisory body is working to modify the drafting currently in effect, in order to return to the model currently outlined Article 38 of the Insurance Contract Act in so far as it relates to the activities of the Loss Adjuster.
Next to speak was ABACO’s Director of Business Development, who highlighted the growth of the brand, from its creation by seven Loss Adjusters in 2004 to the almost one hundred professionals who currently work for ABACO, who have been responsible for over seven million claims adjustments. “What sets us apart,” he affirmed, “is that we are a large family of professionals with a clear message that forms a part of our DNA: to provide the highest possible quality in our work, as demanded by our clients”. Continuing in this line, he added that “we have become a global point of reference in the loss adjusting industry thanks to our willingness to go wherever is needed to service our clients’ claims requirements”. And we shall continue to do so, convinced of the vital input which our efforts bring to the claims adjustment process. For us, no loss is too small or complex. We strive to cater to all our clients’ needs. And, of course, ethics and transparency are the cornerstones of our service”.
The closing speech, following the presentation of a corporate video, was delivered by Mr Jiménez, who reiterated that “ABACO is clearly undergoing changes: we have overhauled our corporate image, launched a new website and broadened our operational reach. But what has not changed, and shall remain unaltered, is our enthusiasm for a job well done and our desire to keep the promises made to our clients”.
