Sue`s career began in the City in 1980 at the Commercial Union as a graduate trainee, learning the basics of underwriting. She diversified into broking in the London and provincial markets, spending nearly 20 years at AON with her final role being Director of Broking for the eleven offices of the South.
She then moved to Dawnay Day, a merchant bank with large property portfolios under management across the world, as Projects Director.
2009 to 2021 with Miller acting as an internal technical and claims consultant, she managed the Corporate Risks Claims department for several years rationalising the processing of small claims and providing claims consultancy and preparation services to UK and global and captive clients. She also founded the Miller Claims Academy.
She is now providing consultancy services to Abaco as well as being a trainer and expert witness.
Throughout her career she has focused on commercial insurance, national and international programmes, including their design, wordings, placement and major and complex claims, matching theory to practice. An acknowledged author of leading texts including Riley on Business Interruption and the Basic Business Interruption Book as well as a recognised trainer and frequent public speaker.
