In an article originally appearing in the magazine Reaseguro Contemporáneo, published by Aon Benfield Mexico, its authors, our colleagues Javier Milla Crespo, David Montiel Quezel-Guerra and Rodolfo Gómez Paredes offer their perspective on the technical aspects of Railway Terminals and their Risks, and their implications for Insurers.
Train stations present a variety of risks, including fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and accidents such as derailments and collisions. This article presents an analysis of all potential risks, first and foremost that of terrorism, which is the most significant risk of all, as demonstrated by the events at terminals in Tokyo, Madrid and London. This is one of the most complex risks to analyse from the Insurers’ point of view.
