He has spent over ten years developing his career in the field of International Logistics and Overseas Commerce and during these years he has held various positions of responsibility in both import/export and international multi-product logistics organisations.
In 2006 Valentin became a Key Account Manager for Wing Fung Optical Mfy. Ltd. / World Business Vision, China’s fourth largest manufacturer of frames and lenses, developing his commercial and negotiating skills at an international level and working on important accounts in the optical sector. Valentin also participated in a number of international trade fairs and trade missions.
In mid-2008 he was appointed as Manager of the Seville office for Portugal’s largest freight forwarder, Transitex, specialising in maritime import/export and the management and coordination of international procurement services. This position provided Valentin with the opportunity to continue to hone his business and negotiating skills, expand his contacts within the logistics sector and to deepen his knowledge and understanding of the logistics and maritime transportation industries.
In September 2010 Valentin joined Destilaciones Bordas Chinchurreta, S.A., a manufacturer and exporter of chemical and agri-food products, as Head of International Logistics. In this role, Valentin was able to apply the knowledge acquired during his years as a logistics manager to optimise and streamline services, reduce costs and to integrate and coordinate all air, maritime and terrestrial logistical import/export operations.
In 2016, when working for Destilaciones Bordas, he was contracted by the freight forwarding company, Moldtrans, S.A. as National Coordinator and International Business Development Officer for the company’s air and maritime divisions. During this phase of his career, he worked as part of a team implementing and executing logistics projects and working on the group’s organizational and commercial strategies. He was also involved in maintaining and developing the company’s network of international agents and representatives.
Valentin is currently using his extensive experience in the international logistics sector in his role as a Marine Surveyor in the Property Department at Abaco Loss Adjusters.
He has a number of other specialist qualifications and certifications relating to the transportation and storage of dangerous goods by air (IATA), road (ADR) and sea (IMDG).
